Day 4: Friday, 01/05/07
There were earthquake tremors overnight!
I woke up really early again, and this time Mike joined me going down to the lakefront. We met Salvador, one of the grounds-keepers, and Mike practiced his Spanish on him. I think he did pretty well too!
We ate breakfast at the hotel again. Dani and I both […]
Still Day 3: Thursday, 01/04/07
We finally passed through Panabaj and entered Tzanchaj, the village where the orphanage is. This is the gate with the pathway that leads up to the airstrip. There are four or five ways to turn in and get up to the house, since there are several houses all within a short […]

Day 3: Thursday, 01/04/07
I woke up very early and went across the road and down to the waterfront to enjoy the quiet and solitude. Not many people at the hotel seemed to use the waterfront area, which was a shame since it was so beautifully kept. There was a pool and jacuzi, multiple tiers of […]

Warning…not for kids only. This site is potentially a huge time pit, so you might want […]
Tammy, at Jewelry & Beading, is hosting our monthly showcase today! Our theme this time is “All Things New”, appropriate for January, don’t you think?
Stamping Mad’s blogger Katelyn decided to get us thinking ahead a bit, to Valentine’s Day. Well, love can be new, or at least it should be re-newed often! That’s Katelyn’s card […]
Still Day 2: Wednesday, 01/03/07
When we returned from the hike up the volcano, lunch was already waiting for us. Susan had fixed her own version of chicken and broccoli alfredo, which was really good. As usual, there was fruit too, and afterwards Tom read another chapter. The kids all call him Pappa or Poppi, by […]
Jenny Harada has shared a wonderful project that will make you feel less sad about having to take down all the Christmas cards you had around the house! She shows how to make holiday stars for next year…
