Nate True has come up with a journal clasp mechanism which you’ve just got to see in action. Fortunately, he’s included a video clip! This thing is great. He writes:
This was the product of a day’s worth of work after about a week of pondering on a cool way to keep a […]

Technique Tuesday!
Not every landscape photo is well-suited to the tranquil feel of this one. I look for strong lines, not too much detail, and water!
As usual, when it comes to manipulations done in Photoshop, I can’t really give you exact settings for filters and colors. Each photo is different, and you’ll have to do some […]

Make Art Monday!
There are times when a colorful landscape shot is just not what you want. I love this particular shot, which I took at the lake in New York where my parents have a cottage:

Is your name your destiny? Maybe.
Virginia Rose Kane makes amazingly beautiful papercuts like nothing you’ve ever seen before. She writes, “I begin each piece by crafting a nulti-layered collage from an assortment of specialty papers including antique engravings, stamps, maps, and vintage European currency. From this collage I handcut an intricate ’silhouette’…”
Virginia’s work is hauntingly […]

Technique Tuesday!
Like all altered book projects, there are really no rules that must be followed. However, there are a few things that will make your life easier if you want to make one of these!
The first tip is to use a box cutter to make the holes for your image or images. Make sure […]

Make Art Monday!
I recently got intrigued with the idea of using the covers of older books, especially those covered in cloth, as picture frames. There are obviously a few challenges inherent in doing this, and tomorrow for Technique Tuesday, I’m going to share a few tips with you in case you want to try it. […]
