A bee’s eye view
Color is so endlessly fascinating! Sometimes we’re tempted to think that color was made just for our enjoyment, but then science brings us up short. At least in the case of flowers, beautiful flowers that make my heart sing, the color was really put there for another’s enjoyment, not ours. The bees, and other pollinators. Makes sense, doesn’t it? And now, science is able to show us how flowers appear to the ones for whom they were really designed:
As the crocus and the primrose above demonstrate, flowers have a landing pad and a target that fairly scream, “Here, here, here!!!” See more pictures and read the article by Michael Hanlon here at the Daily Mail.

Yes! That’s exactly what I was thinking! The world wasn’t designed *exclusively* for our pleasure :-)
