Another fabric frame!
FabricPrincess made this great frame, basically using the tutorial that I posted here on Layers Upon Layers, but giving it her own unique twist!

FabricPrincess writes: “Mine is a bit different in that the entire surface isn’t covered in trim (I didn’t have enough large pieces for that). I really like how this came out, but I think that next time I’ll skip the step of adding the brushed on gloss and instead go straight to the spray finish.” It turns out that she had applied some PearlEx, and the final layer of medium ate the shine! Oh well…it’s a good thing to know. Skip that step, or apply your PearlEx afterwards.
She continues: “I also used a bit of walnut ink to tone down the shininess of all the metallic colors I used, and after that I added the dash of PearlEx to where I wanted it. I think that really pulled it together for me.
I’m giving it to my friend today at brunch. I hope that we’re sitting in a sunny spot because all of the metallic paints really make it shimmer in the light and look awesome. I wish I could’ve caught that in the photo!”
Thank you for sharing this wonderful piece with all of us :)
