Before the snow all fades from memory…
Make Art Monday!
I got some nice shots of a late-spring snowstorm that ripped through New England in April. It was that heavy wet snow that just clings to the branches with a thick frosting-like coating. And that snaps tree trunks and power lines, crushes the daffodils and tulips, and does serious damage to buds on your perennials. Since it was (probably) going to be the last snow of the season, I tromped around taking pictures. The sky was overcast with thin milky clouds and the light was softly filtered as a result. None of the shots had particularly interesting color, contrast, or value levels, but they did have great lines!

I decided to add a gradient fill to them and “art them up” a bit for a little more interest. Tomorrow for Technique Tuesday, I’m going to explain how I use a gradient fill on some (not many) of my photos.

Thanks Sharon!! Eerie was exactly what I was hoping for…or lonely :) I’m big on shots that suggest solitude.
