Has anyone seen or used a Stamp Critter?
OK, this seems almost too good to be true. Has anyone tried one of these? Or even heard of it? Inquiring minds need to know if you’ve got any information on this gizmo!
Make your own photo polymer rubber stamps at home using the revolutionary StampCritter stamp making machine.
Making stamps for card making and scrapbooking has never been easier with the StampCritter - the answer to the card making and scrapbooking enthusiast! Using your home printer and our instructions, you’ll be turning out stamps in minutes. Unlike conventional rubber stamps, our polymer rubber stamps exhibit unique, deep etched imaging characteristics. Can you imagine creating similar looking stamps that you’ve been buying from craft stores, but instead of spending hundreds of dollars you can now make them for pennies per square inch!
The StampCritter comes with everything you need to make your own stamps, including all the supplies needed to create about 50 stamps (or 200 square inches) from your own designs. We even include a set of acrylic blocks for you to use when stamping your finished design onto your card or scrapbook page. Not very design inclined? We also include 1,000 art stamp images you can use to create your designs, and a paint program for design.

Try the folks over at Craftcritique.com. They seem to come up with some interesting finds plus you can email them and ask them.

I haven’t heard of the product but I have made photopolymer stamps many times. I do it similarly to this technique:

Thank you, Gypsy! Right back atcha :-)
Lizzy, that looks like a fascinating process. I’ve never seen anything like that before. I’d love to see some of your work that you’ve made using your own stamps!

It is a fascinating process; and if I could get mine to work it would be great. Support is horrible and I’m considering seriously returning mine if I can’t get help in the next week. I think the process is right-on, it’s just a complicated one to figure without being able to talk with someone who knows how to do it successfully!

That’s a sad thing to hear, Sheila. It could be such a wonderful tool for so many if only there was support!

While the telephone support needs help, I found the technical blog on their site to be very helpful. It did take some practice but once I got it I have been very happy with the process. Just my two cents!

Jerri: Where in the world and how did you find tech blog on the stampcritter site? And PLEASSSSEEEE let me know the times you’ve had success with for exposures 1 and 2. I’ve gone through a whole pack of supplies and still not one stamp. Andrew isn’t responding to any of my mails for almost a month. You can e-mail me direct at docsheila1@comcast.net. Thanks much.sheila king

I was one of the first people to buy this piece of junk back in December 2007, and it has thoroughly disappointing all around. I have gone through all the supplies and have not made one usable stamp. (My problem was that half the plate would come out well, but the other half would be such low relief that it wouldn’t make a nice stamp.) When I bought it they said that there was lifetime tech support, so I thought I would be covered. I’ve called their 800 number and I’ve send emails and got no response. Stay away from this company.

Well, that pretty much makes it unanimous on the issue of support, Sy. I’m sorry that it happened to you, but thank you for your warning.

Oh I’m so glad I found this site. I am up to my eyeballs in frustration with my new Stamp Critter. I honestly feel that I threw away good money. But yet I see that some people have had success. If only I had better instructions. I have waisted more “Instaplates” with no success, I’m almost ready to throw in the towel. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi
I purchased stamp critter last month and have not been able to make one stamp and have tried every combination of exposure times. I have tried to contact Tim but no response and now it appears they have taken their website down. Asked Tim for my money back but still no response. If you have any other contact info please let me know. If not can you say, “Attorney General’s Office?” Thanks for any help.

P.S. if I don’t hear something from Stamp Critter I will go to the state’s attorney general office. If you are one of the people who can’t get support and satisfaction I will gladly take your name and number if the office asks for more names.

Denise, I have had tremendous luck in getting my consumer problems solved (two of them) by contacting my state attorney general’s office. There is a staff of people there whose sole purpose is to help you with things like this. Since there is a “money back guarantee”, I’d say they’ve moved into credit card fraud as well. Speaking of, have you tried doing a charge back on your card, or is it too late?

Denise: Please add my name and number when you talk with the AG. You can e-mail me direct at: docsheila1@mac.com. I’m with you all the way. Let me know
