Making leaf silhouette paper, part 1
Technique Tuesday
I want to show you the super-easy steps to making this stenciled paper that I shared yesterday. You can certainly use different colors than I did, but I’ve included them here for those who care :-)

- Wet a sheet of heavy watercolor paper. I used 140 pound cold pressed.
- Paint the entire sheet with a thin glaze of a medium color acrylic paint. I used Quinacridone burnt orange.
- Before the glaze is completely dry, sponge with some darker colors. I used Permanent violet dark and Dioxazine purple.
- Let the paper dry thoroughly.
- Hold down leaves and sponge around them with Jenkins green acrylic. Let it dry completely again.
- Wipe lightly with Quinacridone gold to pull all the colors together.
