This was a test of a stamp I’d just made (also have the sketch to go with it). I was playing around trying to get ideas. So far I don’t have a finished painting with this image. I scribbled on some poetry relating to rain. My sketchbook used to be very mathematical, precise and detailed. I always wrote the date I completed the work, I wrote what inspired the piece, I tested my color palette on the page, and often did a value drawing. Lately my sketchbook is more of a place to declutter my mind. My art journal is for most of the major planning.
