Mounting the beaded postcards

Technique Tuesday!

I used 12″x24″ gallery-wrapped Frederix canvases to mount my Bead Journal Pages. Each page is 6″x4″, so this left plenty of space around each.
Materials and Tools
3 gallery-wrapped canvases
Golden’s acrylic paints
Sponges
Waxed paper
Beading thread
Beading needles

Arrange beaded cards as they will be on the canvases. Mine are arranged by month: otherwise I may have grouped […]

Call for entries: Beadwork’s Beaded Book Competition

Entry period: August 1-December 18, 2008. Read the complete rules.

Bead Journal Project - April’s Grass Moon

April’s Grass Moon
I am finished!! The year-long project known as the Bead Journal Project is drawing to a close, and my journal pages are all completed! You can see the entire set of them on Why Not Art, my mixed media website. I decided to make April’s page lush and crowded, the way I remember […]

Bead Journal Project - March’s Chaste Moon

March’s Chaste Moon
For this month’s Beaded Journal Page, I had the work do double duty. There was a challenge in one of my favorite forums (Bead Arts forum) to create something “hidden in plain sight”. I chose to work braille words into my journal page, using a different size (but same color) beads. […]

Bead Journal Project - February’s Snow Moon

February’s Snow Moon
I used a number of different patterns for dimensional snowflakes on this addition to my Beaded Journal pages. Some of them look kind of fuzzy in the photo, because they stick straight up and I can’t control the aperture on my camera for depth of field adjustments. Next camera, that’s for sure!
You can […]
