Which are your favorite media?

Over in the right-hand sidebar is a new poll, with only 4 choices!  I’m trying to get a general idea of what the majority of you are into these days :-)

You’ve probably figured out by now that I like it all…but I really want to concentrate on what you like most.  So point and click for me, and leave me a comment here, too, if you’d like!

    Being a newbie collage artist, can you guide me to the rules for using photos? I bought “150,000 Pictures” software that says, “Royalty Free”. Is that different than copyright?
    In the terms, it reads: “you may not use the Content in any manner that: >among others< (vi) characterizes any … unlawful activity as acceptable, glamorous or desirable.
    Here in San Francisco we can buy marijuana at ~ 25 clubs. If I use a pic from the software to promote the medicinal use of m.j., WHO decides if I get in trouble or not?

    Tony, you’re right to be careful about this. Royalty free does not mean the same thing as copyright free. The folks who sold you the pictures are telling you that you don’t have to pay additional fees to use these pictures, but that doesn’t mean that you own the copyright and can do whatever you want with them. They still get to set the terms.

    I don’t know who decides whether or not your hypothetical use would violate their terms. If in doubt, ask. And for the ONLY copyright information that is 100% accurate in the US, go to the government site: http://www.copyright.gov/

    Wow - I appreciate your info. I can paint, but not good at drawing, so I rely on printed pictures. Is there a topic/thread where we can share our free-photo site discoveries?
    I have your LuL info on my ATT/Yahoo home page - really enjoy it!
